  • Protection: The affected body part must be protected from further injury, with the help of a support.
  • Relaxation: The affected body part must be provided adequate rest. A sling is suggested in case of a shoulder
  • Ice treatment: Application of ice pack over the affected area for 15-20 minutes in every 4 hours is advisable. The ice (ice-block) should be wrapped in a towel to avoid it directly touching the skin.
